1. reduce用法详解

（1）vt.减少，缩小（尺寸，数量，价格等）

o减少......到 by以（比例）......减少

reduced hours/prices 减少工时/减价（reduced做定语）

Costs have been reduced by 20% over the past year.过去一年， 成本已经减少了20%。

（2）vt.使沦为，使陷入（不好的境地）

be reduced to(doing)sth. 使陷入（更坏的）境地；使沦落；使陷入窘境

（1）adj.应支付的；应有的，适当的，通常做定语。

（2）adj.到期的

The bill will fall due next Monday.这张账单下星期一到期。（fall连系动词，处于......状态）

（3）adj.预定的，约定的，通常做表语，后接动词原形。

The boat is due to arrive at 12.船预计在12点到。

The train is due to leave for Shanghai at 8 o’clock.这趟列车定于8点出发上海。

（4）due to由于，作状语或表语，说明原因。

3. cover用法详解

（1）vt.盖，覆盖；掩蔽；遮盖

with 用......覆盖 be covered with/by被......覆盖 cover up掩盖(真相)

（2）vt.包括；包含；涉及

4. in order to用法详解

in order to为了；一边，后接动词原形，表示目的。

in order（not）to do 为了（不）做......

In order to succeed,we must have a complete and thorough plan.为了成功，我们必须要有一个周密的计划。

Talk quietly in the reading room in order not to disturb others.在阅览室里，轻声说话，以免妨碍别人。
