The relationship between ancient Greek culture and

ancient Roman culture

Ancient Greek and Roman culture is the cradle of western culture,it has great

effect on Europe and even the whole ancient Greeks absorbed and

used for reference to ancient Egypt and west Asia cultural created

colorful Greek culture. The ancient Romans inherited Greece and eastern culture

achievements, and built Roman culture gradually.

Sculpture Art

Ancient Greek and Roman sculpture’s common features is seek for a

harmonious beauty especially classical period and the hellenistic period of the

highlight achievement is embodied in the portrait (including gods)

sculpture, especially human body sculpture. Roman sculpture’s achievement are

focused on the carved image, its characteristic is both realistic and personalized.

However, the ancient greeks in sculpture creat,they aspired ideality,simple,

democratic society, and in the aspire of art will be more side of

ancient Roman is natural and pursuit of the beauty of human body. And the

Roman is the ’s more，it contain tyranny and autocratic colour,
