All out in Shanghai – GEA Ecoflex still sets on core

industry marine technology

Since 2001 the specialists for plate heat exchangers of GEA

Ecoflex are a firm size of the fair “Marintec China”. On the meeting

of this year in Shanghai the company is represented on stand

2G11. They present the product series which is leading in plate

heat exchange technology for cooling and heating - the NT plate

heat exchangers.

According to Mik Hansen, Regional Director GEA PHE Group Asia

Pacific head quartered in Singapore, the good experiences of the

former years and the quality of the fair are the reasons for a renewed

participation. “Particularly in ship building we experience a rapid

development. Therefore it is crucial to remain permanent at the pulse of

time and to position the own abilities consistently in the market."

Straight against the background of new customer relationships in Korea

and China the "Marintec China" in Shanghai has a strategic meaning for

the company. In these countries GEA Ecoflex expects an increase in

sales in the marine segment in the near future.

During the last months product configurations of the NT-series of plate

heat exchangers were developed further. With the recently finished

sizes NT 100 and NT 350 more effective solutions for diesel generator

and central cooling can be presented. NT 350 is applicable for mass

flows up to 2,000 m³/ h cooling water the size thus ideal as a central

cooler in for large installed power. The smaller brother NT 100 is

optimised for HT-cooling at significantly reduced pressure losses.

Optimal plate design and efficient heat transfer are crucial competitive

edges. Further, new assembly and sealingl technologies point at a

future of plate heat exchangers with less attendance. Result of the

innovations: Diversified application areas as well as lower operating and

investment costs.

The

fully welded plate heat exchanger PresskoWeld® was specially

developed for use with difficult media. The heat transfer surface is

comprised of a number of profiled stainless steel plates that have been

welded together to form a plate pack. The plate pack is fixed in an exact

position in the tubular jacket. This design allows operating pressures of

up to 100 bars and, with special materials, temperatures of between -

200 °C and 900 °C. The materials selected and the position of the

connections depend on the intended application and the customer's

wishes. The heat exchanger is a favourite as an ammonia condenser

with separator and pipe work, all accommodated into a single unit

production sites in Germany and Sweden and a global sales and service organization,

Competence centers for brazed plate heat exchangers are GEA Ecobraze,

Landskrona/Sweden as well as GEA WTT in Wilchwitz Nobitz.

Fully-welded plate heat exchangers are fabricated both in Ratingen near Düsseldorf

and in Artern/Thuringia.
