I am developing a React Native app, which receives packets from a physical device on a high rate (20packets every second). I need to do some processing on the packets and extract some information each time I receive a packet.

On older devices, this cause a huge delay. So I assume, I should move these functions to a background(?) thread that would run separately from the main thread that updates the UI. I investigated some libraries for react-native threads, and most of them looks very old and not maintained.

Any suggestion for a library? or any other suggestions?
