I got this google coral dev board second hand from a friend who had been using it with a particular OS I cannot interface with. I have been following the get started setup to flash a fresh mendel OS on the board.

The problem arises when booting the board in SD Mode with my flashed SD card inserted. The board fires up as expected, but does not flash or communicate anything through serial or HDMI. I have left it multiple hours hanging and the board has never powered off as the setup expects it to or sent anything through serial (screen stays blank).

It does boot as expected in eMMC, but the serial communications gets instantly cut off (I assume the current OS does not support it). HDMI gets me the current OS's boot sequence with no errors, but it is a weird smartTV os which I cannot interface with.

Flashing through USB is impossible as neither serial nor OTG communicates.

No serial means no logs and I am at a loss as to what could be causing this and how to fix it.
