producing firm MSCI （Morgan Stanley Capital International）

has developed the MSCI country A50 Connectivity Index, which

covers 50panies with good liquidity and investment value in A

stock marketpanies. As a target indicator for Hong Kong and

Deepport, the MSCI A50 Connectivity Index is designed to

facilitate investment opportunities for restricted investors in

Hong Kong and Hong Kong exchanges. The index has also be

an important reference indicator for foreign investment by

foreign institutions in our A—stock market. The current base

figure of the MSCI A50 connectivity index is 1000, reflecting the

wide range of market values covered. The Government will

continue to encourage and support the participation of foreign

institutions in our A—stock market and promote its healthy and

stable development.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Exchange,

respectively, represent two markets： stock A and stock H of

the MSCI A50 Connectivity Index. The A share market is the

domestic market, including the Hong Kong and Deepport

markets, while the H share market is the Hong Kong market.

MSCI shares A and H of the A50 Connectivity Index in our

country are the same, with different trading locations. This index

reflects the investment dynamics and trends in both the A and

H markets and is very instructive.
