These essays and the numerous recentpublished articles and conference presentations on potential reflect thewidespread interest, as well as the challenges, of managing high-potentialindividuals in organizations. Based on our experience, and apparently also on theexperience of commentary authors, many organizations and consulting firms aregiving significant attention to this component of strategy-driven talentmanagement (see also Oliver, Church, Lewis, & Desrosiers, 2009; Silzer & Church, inpress; Silzer & Dowell, in press).
