Text 1 中国园林

The Chinese garden is a landscape garden style which has evolved over three thousand

years. It includes both the vast gardens of the Chinese emperors and members of the

imperial family, and gardens created by scholars, poets, former government officials, soldiers

and merchants. They create an idealized miniature landscape, which is meant to express the

harmony that should exist between man and nature. Of the world’s three major garden

systems, the Chinese classical garden is hailed as one of the origins of the worlds garden due

to its long history and abundant connotations.

中医学是一种传统医学，它是在2500多年的中国医学实践基础上建立起来的，包括中草药、针

灸( acupuncture)、推拿、气功和饮食疗法等多种形式。中医药长期以来一直在中华大地被广泛使用，

Traditional Chinese medicine is a style of traditional medicine built on a foundation of

more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice that includes various forms of herbal

medicine, acupuncture, massage exercise(qigong), and dietary therapy. Traditional Chinese

medicine is widely used in China, and is becoming increasingly popular worldwide.

Traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis aims to trace symptoms to lifestyles of an underlying

disharmony, by measuring the pulse, inspecting the tongue, skin, and eyes, and looking at

the eating and sleeping habits of the person as well as many other things.

杜甫是一位唐代著名诗人。和李白一样，他也经常被称为中国最伟大的诗人。他最大的理想是做

一名成功的官员，以报效国家。许多文学评论家认为杜甫的作品位列中国有史以来最伟大的作品。杜

甫生前和死后不久，他的作品并没有受到大众的推崇，这归因于他的文体和形式上的创新。他是唯一

Du Fu was a prominent Chinese poet of the Tang Dynasty. Along with Li Bai, he is

frequently called the greatest of the Chinese poets. His greatest ambition was to serve his

country as a successful civil servant. Du Fu's writings are considered by many literary critics to

be among the greatest of all time in China. In his life time and immediately following his

death, Du Fu's works were not greatly appreciated. In part this can be attributed to his

stylistic and formal innovation. He is the only Chinese poet whose influence grew with time

and his works began to increase in popularity in the ninth century.
