胃痛的英语单词

胃痛的英语单词是：stomachache。

牛津词典给出两层含义：

① the organ inside the body where food goes when you

swallow it

当你吞咽后食物进入的体内器官，即“胃”。

② the front part of the body below the chest

胸部以下、身体的前部，即“腹部”。

清楚了吧？ stomach 不能只狭义地理解为“胃”，它还可以表示“腹部”。来看一些例子：

It's not a good idea to drink alcohol on an empty stomach.

空腹不宜饮酒。

You shouldn't exercise on a full stomach.

你不应该吃饱了就运动。

上述两句中的 stomach 指“胃”，这一层含义是我们比较熟悉的。

再看看 stomach 表示“腹部”的例子：

The thug kicked him in the stomach.

歹徒一脚踢在他肚子上。

The soldiers crawled on their stomachs.

士兵们匍匐爬行。

上面两个例子中，stomach 翻译成“胃”就不合适了吧？否则也太血腥了...

所以应该翻译为“腹部”，也就是“肚子”，同义词还有 belly、tummy等。

综上所属， stomach ache 既可以表示“胃痛”，也可以表示“肚子痛”。
