介绍一些词根的来历

--lef/lev(去掉一个元音是构词中的常见现象，f-v 清辅音变

浊辅音，方便连接后面的部分）

alleviate 减轻，缓解

-表加强，用ad-构词时，d通常会变为与其紧挨的一个字母

access

aggravate 加重，恶化(grave有坟墓之意，做形容词表示庄重，

严肃，沉重，因为一般西方认为gray灰色代表死亡，墓碑的颜色一般

都是gray)

associate

aggrandize 增加，使增大（grand是词根，grandiloquence 吹

牛，这个词中loquence表示说，eloquence雄辩，有口才）

abbreviate 缩略 （brief-bref-brev,去掉一个元音，f-v 清辅音变

浊辅音)

来源于ripe 成熟的，果实成熟时通常会爆裂，因此 rupt 有

爆裂，爆炸之意

erupt（爆发，出疹） corrupt（腐化，堕落） interrupt（打断）

-patr（英语构词中b-p-h-f-v,可以相互替换，father中把

f变为p,去掉送气的h和元音e)

patriot爱国者 patricide弑父 matricide弑母

=foot expedition远足 centipede蜈蚣

ped=child pedophilia恋童癖（philo=love, soph=wise,

philosophy爱智慧，就是哲学；ia是病的后缀）

变形为astr

astrology占星术（-logy表示研究....的学问）

astronomy 天文学

disaster (dis+ast(r)+er, 星位不正，古人认为是灾异的征兆哦）

e-artic

articulate(章：每十音为一章，因此这个词表示条分理析，很清

楚）

地球--tell-terr(构词中l=r=n)

territory(领土） terrain(地形地势）

-alg联合(y变g,想想yard和garden)

amaglam汞合金 amalgamate v.联合，混合 algebra代数

（1+2+3=6，bra表示break，把零散的整合起来）

10.n-m (当n后面是p,b,m时）

compassion 同情心 combination community 共同体

=war (只要有敌人来犯，立即敲钟报警，这是冷兵器时代

常见的情形）

rebellion 反抗 bellicose 好战的
