Employee retention, for your best employees, is the most challenge in

organization today. Many of company are doing a fantastic job in this area. One

of a great example for the retention is Zappos Company. Zappos is the No. 6 of

the top 100 best companies to work for and there employee turnover rate is only

8.32% in 2011.

To keep your company retentions, you need to know the complaints, bottom

lines of retention and what people want from work. There is not enough for a

manager just be a nice person in the work place. A nice man can keep employees

but they still need to learn more key factors in employee retention.

First, effective managers create employee retention which means manager

need communicate with their employees frequently. An effect feedback can make

employee feel empowered, enabled, and confident in their ability to get the job

done. A manager that does not provide clarity about expectations, career

development and earning potential and not give regular feedback about

performance will lead your employees leave.

Secondly, organization’s need teaching a manager management skill to

increase retention ability. To reach goal you need have a core values and a

mission that can let your people can reach within company main direction. In

Zappos, their culture is the best thing for keeps most of employees chose

working there. As a fantastic company, their core values are reflecting in

management development. Training your managers core management skills

funding for employees’ education and training opportunities.

do not willing to do or they still using their old pattern. When these happened,

company need let the manager go.

For the complaints, find your employee unhappy is an essential part for

retention. The mostly complaints are higher salaries, internal pay equity, benefits

programs, particularly health insurance, retirement, over-management, pay

increase guidelines for merit, human resources department response to

employees, favoritism, communication and availability and workloads are too

heavy. To satisfy employees need, Zappos covers 100% of the cost for their

medical benefits (covered dental, vision and superior vision) and on average 85%

of the cost for spouse, dependents, and partners. Moreover, it is no pre-existing

condition limitation.

In addition, find what people want from work is essential to your company.

Some of people work for their interest. Some of people are work for fulfill their

dream through the work. Other people like solve variety of program in their work.

So the motivation is individually and variety.

The most reason for work is money which we can call compensation, salary,

bonuses or benefit. It provides your employees housing, children care, food and

many activates. However, money is just a basic requirement for motivation. For a

successful company, a significant thing is fair pay and benefit.

Fair benefits and pay are the cornerstone of a successful company that

recruits and retains committed workers. If you provide a living wage for your

employees, you can then work on additional motivation issues. Without the fair,

living wage, however, you risk losing your best people to a better-paying

employer. If you want attract best employees that you need to pay more money

than the average. In addition, after you done this, you need give what people

they want:

• Control of their work inspires motivation

• To belong to the in-crowd creates motivation

• The opportunity for growth and development is motivational
