My School

My name is Andy and I'm in fourth grade. I'm going to tell

you all about my super awesome school! It's the best place ever

and I love going there to learn new things every day.

First, let me describe the building itself. My school is really

big with two floors. The outside is made of red bricks and has

lots of windows to let in natural light. There are two playground

areas - one has swings, monkey bars, and other fun equipment

to play on during recess. The other playground has basketball

hoops, a running track, and a big field where we can play sports

like soccer or baseball.

When you walk inside the front doors, you enter into the

main hallway. It's always decorated with colorful student artwork

and projects hanging on the walls. To the left is the main office

where the principal, secretaries, and school nurse have their

workspaces. There are comfy chairs in the office waiting area in

case a parent needs to sit for a few minutes.

Further down the hall is the library. It's my favorite room in

the whole school! The library is gigantic with ceiling-high

bookshelves filled with thousands of books on every topic you

can imagine. There are beanbag chairs to curl up and read in,

plus lots of tables if you need to study or do homework. The

librarian is really nice and always helpful if I need to find a certain

book.

Next to the library is the computer lab with rows of desktop

computers for students to use and practice our typing and

technology skills. At the end of the main hallway are the music

room, where we have music class once a week, and the art room

stocked with all kinds of art supplies for amazing projects.

If you go upstairs, that's where all the regular classrooms are

located. The walls are lined with cubbies and hooks where we

can store our backpacks and jackets during the school day. Each

classroom has individual desks for all the students, a big

chalkboard or whiteboard at the front, and a teacher's desk area.

We spend most of our time in these rooms for core subjects like

math, reading, writing, science, and social studies.

My favorite special classroom upstairs is the science lab. It

has black countertops lining the walls for doing experiments and

fun science projects. There are cabinets full of beakers, scales,
