## Boolean Operations in Patran.
Boolean operations are a powerful tool for creating
complex geometries in Patran. They allow you to combine,
subtract, and intersect different shapes to create new ones.
This can be useful for a variety of tasks, such as creating
cutouts, merging parts, and creating complex shapes.
There are three main Boolean operations in Patran:
Union: This operation combines two shapes into a
single shape. The resulting shape is the area that is
common to both shapes.
Subtraction: This operation removes one shape from
another shape. The resulting shape is the area that is not
common to both shapes.
Intersection: This operation creates a new shape that
is the area that is common to both shapes.
Boolean operations can be performed on any two shapes
in Patran. The shapes can be solids, surfaces, or curves.
The resulting shape will be the same type as the input
shapes.
To perform a Boolean operation in Patran, select the
two shapes that you want to combine, then click on the
Boolean icon in the toolbar. A dialog box will appear where
you can select the type of operation that you want to
perform. Once you have selected the operation, click on the
OK button.
The resulting shape will be created and added to the
model. You can then use the shape as you would any other
shape in Patran.
