I don't fully understand the purpose of using query tags in Snowflake. I have started to incorporate them in some routine queries that run so I can see what the report name is in the Query Monitor.
Are there other use cases for this in SQL?

This allows users to label their workloads. You can use them for categorizing and aggregating queries for monitoring and optimization purposes.
You can use the query_tags for tracking and analytics. They make tracking and monitoring queries for compliance and auditing purposes easy and quick.
There are also many more advantages of query tags.
