Answer to 的用法

常用于一般时态，不用于被动语态。

1、 适应，符合 Answer to sth

例句：

The copy answers to the original .

此复印件与原件相同。

Your deeds must answer to your words .

你的言行应该一致。

2、 有责任（向某人）（就某事）作出解释或承担责任。

Answer to sb(for sth)

例句：

I’ll answer to your mother for your safety.

我要向你母亲保证，对你的安全负责。

You will have to answer to the authorities concerned for this neglect of duty.

你得为此次失职行为向有关当局承担责任。

3、 应答：（对……）有反应

Answer to sth

例句：

He called for help but nobody answered to his call.

他呼救，但是无人响应。

The horse answered to the slightest prll on the rein .

只要缰绳轻轻一拉，马就作出反应。

The patient began to answer to the medical treatment.

病人身上开始显示出疗效。

补充：answer sth answer to sth

Answer 用于“回答、答复”等直义时，一般用作及物动词，即不带to .例如：

Answer my question,please.

请回答我的问题。

用于“符合，适合”等转义时，两种用法均可，不过不带to 时直接性较强。例如：

This dictionary answers (to)the medical treatment.
