英语语法：after和behind的用法比较两者的引申义区别值得

after 和behind都是很常用的单词，我们来看看它们的区别:

一、after主要用于表示时间或次序，behind主要用于表示位置。

我们来看几个例句：

He decided to leave after lunch.

他决定午饭后离开。（时间）

After you.

您先请。（顺序）

The hospital is behind the post office.

医院在邮局的后面。（位置）

特别注意一点：behind 有时候也用于时间，主要用于behind

time（迟，晚）这一短语。比如说：

The train was 30 minutes behind time.

火车晚点30分钟。

二、两者都可以用于引申义，after 侧重于：追求、寻找、模仿等；

而 behind 则侧重于：在背后、支持、落后等。比如说：

You should chase after something that can give you a

helping hand in your business.

你应该追求一些对你的生意有帮助的东西。（追求）

We named the baby ‘Anna’ after her grandmother.

我们以婴儿祖母的名字给婴儿取名“安娜”。（模仿）

We are behind you completely.

我们完全支持你。（支持）
