英语中只以复数存在的不可数名词

英语中有些名词只以复数形式存在，它们是不能用数字来修饰的

不可数名词，没有意义相同的单数形式，用复数代词代替，单独作主

语时，谓语用复数，它们通常有两个部分，常见的有：

一、衣物类：trousers, panties, knickers, briefs, tights, jeans,

pants, pyjamas, shorts，例如：

trousers 裤子

My trousers are dirty. I need to wash them.我的裤子脏了。我

需要洗它们。

I bought two pairs of trousers.我买了两条裤子。

解析：此句不能写成 I bought two trousers.

briefs 短内裤

A bra and a pair of briefs lay on the floor.地板上有一个胸罩和

一条短内裤。

tights 紧身衣；紧身裤袜

Red tights are out of stock.红色紧身衣缺货。

She bought a new pair of tights.她买了一条新紧身衣。

jeans 牛仔裤

My jeans wouldn't zip up. 我的牛仔裤拉不上了。

He was wearing blue jeans and checked shirt. 他穿着蓝色牛

仔裤和格子衬衫。

pyjamas （一套）睡衣裤

I need a new pair of pyjamas.我需要一条新睡衣。

二、工具类：headphones, pliers, scissors, tongs, tweezers,

binoculars, glasses, goggles, sunglasses，例如：

headphones 耳机；头戴式受话器

The sound is fed directly to the headphones.声音直接传到耳

机里。

She clamped a pair of headphones over her ears.她把一副耳

机夹在耳朵上。

scissors 剪刀

The scissors cut well. 这剪刀很快。

She picked up a pair of scissors from the windowsill. 她从窗

台上拿起一把剪刀。

pliers 钳子

This pair of pliers is really handy. 这把钳子使着真灵便。

glasses 眼睛

These glasses make me look like a freak.这些眼镜让我看起来

像个怪胎。

She wears glasses with very thick lenses.她戴着镜片很厚的眼

镜。

三、其他：earnings, belongings, clothes, congratulations,

thanks, outskirts, premises, surroundings

belongings 财物

Make sure your belongings are tagged with your name

before you check them in.在您办理入住手续之前，请确保您的物品

上有您的姓名标签。
