Dialogues

1、Registering a guest who has a reservation (登记客人预定)

Receptionist = R Guest = G

R: Good afternoon. Welcome to the peace hotel. What can I do for you?

G: Yes. I have a reservation with you .

R: In whose name was the reservation made?

G: John Schmidt

R:Wait a minute , please. I’ll check our reservation record. Yes, we have the

reservation under your name . Could I see you passport?

G: Here you are.

R: Would you please fill in this registration form?

G:Of course ,( A few minute later.) Excuse me , what should I fill in under

ROOM NUMBER?

R: You can skip it , I will put in the room number for you later on.

G: Here it is. Is it all right?

R:Yes , thanks, How will you be paying, in cash,by credit, or with traveler’s

checks?

G: By credit card.

R: May I take a copy of your card,please?

G: Sure.

R: Here is the key card to room 1106, the bellman will show you up with your

luggage.

G: Thank you.

R: You are welcome. Hope you’ll enjoy your stay with us .

2、Registering a tour group

Receptionist = R Guest = G

R: Good afternoon , ladies and gentlemen , who is the group leader?

G: That’s me , we’ve made a reservation in your hotel.

R: Nice to have you here, i’m zhao of the front desk, is there any change in

your schedule or in the number of your group?

G:We have the same schedule , but i’m afraid we have to make arrangements

for one more person, that is, ’s thirteen-year-old boy.

R: If we were’t so heavily booked, i could offer you two adjoining rooms. But

now i could only suggest putting an extra bed in the bedroom.

3、Registering a walk-in guest

Receptionist = R Guest = G

R: Good evening, madam. May i help you?

G:Yes. My name is Nancy Nixon. Do you have any room available for tonight?

G: No , i’m afraid not.

R:What type of room do you like?

G:A single, preferably with a fine view.

R:Wait a moment, please. Let me see . I wonder if you’d consider a standard

room instead since there is no single room available. We have some nice ones At

120 dollars per night.

G:In that case, i’ll take it.

R:May i have your passport to fill out the registration form for you?

G:Certainly. Here you are.

R:(The receptionist takes a look at the guest’s passport and quickly

completes the form.)

How would you like to make payment?

G:In cash.

R:As a hotel policy, we require one day’s room charge as 2 deposit for guests

without reservations.

G:No problem, here you are.

R:Thank you. This is your key card, madam. you may keep the key card until

you check out. Our bellman will take you to your room with your suitcases.

G:Thank you. By the way, Is the restaurant still open? I haven’t had my

supper.

R:Yes, our restaurant won’t be closed until 10: It’s on the second

floor.

G:Thank you very much.

R: Enjoy your stay.

4、Extending the stay

Receptionist = R Guest = G

R: Good morning, sir. Nice to see you again. Can I help you?

G: I am due to check out tomorrow, but I’d like to extend my stay by two or

three days.

R: Could I have your name and room number?

G: Paul white in room 1005.

R: Please wait me a minute, . I’ll have to check the computer

records ...I’m sorry, but we are expecting several tour groups to arrive today. They

have booked all the rooms on the 10th floor.

G: What can be done then?

R: If you don’t mind transferring to another room,we may manage it for you.
