As an experienced editor in academic journals, it is my practice to use PDF annotation when

proofreading. PDF annotation is an effective tool for proofreading, and it can not only

ensure the accuracy of the content, but also improve the efficiency of proofreading to a large

extent.

Generally speaking, PDF annotation is used when I proofread journal submissions. It has

several advantages. First of all, it can effectively emphasize the most important content of

the paper. Secondly, it can clearly present my rectifications and suggestions, thus facilitating

the authors to further improve their manuscripts. Thirdly, I can record my own imprint on a

PDF file and make a complete record of the proofreading, which is more convenient when

the review process is over.

Finally, PDF annotation is also a useful tool when I proofread. For example, I can add and

delete text directly on the PDF file, as well as add effects such as bold, italic and underline.

This multi-function tool enables me to make changes quickly and accurately, thus ensuring

the correctness and readability of the paper.

In conclusion, I believe that PDF annotation is a great tool for proofreading. It can help save

time and make the work of an editor more efficient and accurate.
