“书写”有关的词根 scribe-

词根scrib来源于拉丁文scribere一词，表示“书写（to wirte）”之意。单词script

是在词根scrib的基础上演变而来，体现了b和p的辅音转换规则，然后加上了强辅音t

以便为连接后缀做准备。单词manuscript是由词根manu(man表示手)加上script(书写

的东西)构成，表示“手稿；原稿”之意。另外，我们在写信的时候如果忘记说了一些重要

的事情，就会在信的末尾加上.的字样，其实就是postscript的缩写形式。前缀post表示

“在后面”，那么postscript就是写在信件后面的话。

scribble v.乱写，涂鸦

words.

译：演讲者讲得太快了，他只能匆匆记下几个支离破碎的字。

script n.原本，脚本

派：scripture n.圣经，经典（ure名词后缀）

例：You can adapt and use this script on your own if you want.

译：如果需要，您可以根据自己的需要改编并使用这个脚本。

ascribe v.把…归于

记：a强调+scribe书写→把…写上去→归因于

例：Since the American public seems to ascribe much job loss in the US

economy to globalization.

译：美国公众似乎将美国经济的大部分失业归咎于全球化。

circumscribe v.在…周围画圈；限制

记：circum环+scribe书写→画上一圈→限定

例：The principal has requested all teachers to circumscribe failures in red on

the report cards.
